Rubb assembly covers the world

Rubb buildings enable production and maintenance operations to be carried out in remote locations. During the Autumn of 2014, Rubb Pte Ltd completed construction of two workshops for strategic customers.

The oil and gas exploration and production operations in the Caspian basin require sand blasting and painting operations to be conducted under controlled conditions. This meant a blast and painting workshop was needed at this remote site in eastern Kazakhstan. Rubb delivered two 15m x 40m workshop buildings for this purpose in 2014.

In addition to delivery of the prefabricated workshops – all parts delivered in standard 40 foot containers, Chevroil, requested that Rubb perform the assembly of the two buildings.

After organising work permits and travel arrangments, Rubb dispatched two highly skilled specialists who assembled the PVC cladding in a lessthan 10 days on site.

Tengizchevroil LLP was formed between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chevron Corporation in 1993 to explore and develop the Tengiz oilfield. Today TCO is the largest company in Kazakhstan which produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulphur.

A land based gas processing project required protective cover for blasting and painting of process equipment. Rubb Pte was able to dispatch another two man crew at short notice to assemble a 15m x 60m building, completing the work in less than two weeks.

Rubb technicians brought all their own tools (30 kg per man), their skills and strong work ethic to the site. The customer provided the lifting equipment and local transportation. This work was requested at short notice in December and the building was operational within two weeks and the workers home for Christmas.

Torgeir Loe, Fabrication Superintendent, Brunei Shell Petroleum ORMC, Aker Solutions, said: "I am very impressed and satisfied with all work done by Rubb. I give my compliments to the workers. It has been a pleasure to co-operate with them, and I look forward to doing this again."

Key advantages of Rubb buildings with regard to construction include:

  • Detailed assembly instructions for customers who wish to perform assembly with their own manpower
  • Highly skilled and motivated Rubb specialists (usually two man crews) who are willing and able to deploy anywhere in the world
  • Small crew on site keeps costs down and ensures a safe and fast site assembly

The high functionality, flexibility, and quality of a Rubb building comes into its own when the building is assembled quickly and safely at the customers’ remote location. Rubb is ready for challenging installation tasks in 2015!
